Napa Nutritionals Raises the Bar for Vitamin C Performance

If you believe one vitamin C is about as good as another, think again!

“It is hard enough for people to spend the extra money on vitamins for little more than mere hope that their supplements are doing what they claim to,” says Gretchen Reece, President of Scientific Food Solutions (SFS), winner of the 2009 Scientific Achievement Award, and the prestigious 2009 Nutrition Business Journal (NBJ). SFS has received much press over the last three years for developing a vitamin C product that sets a new standard for Vitamin C. The supplement is branded as Fast-C, and is sold to the public under Napa Nutritionals, a retail company founded by Reece earlier this year.

In a nutshell, here’s what makes Fast-C so special according to two separate , impartial studies by Miami Research Associates. When you think of ‘delivery’ you probably think of the mail, or shipping and handling. But vitamins are judged on their delivery systems as well. Vitamins deliver not just by the method you take them (i.e. tablet, caplet etc.) and by speed of absorption, but more important to you and I, the consumer, is whether the products actually do what they promise to. According to Reece, Fast C is different due to its unique formulation which causes it to deliver faster results. Several test comparisons demonstrate that the beneficial effects of Fast-C last longer than a well known leading brand. Her claim is substantiated by two independent studies at the American Collage of Nutrition which published their findings.

A word on the role of impartial Studies: Vitamin supplement companies may volunteer to have their products evaluated for effectiveness and truth telling, by impartial 3rd party institutions like Miami Research Associates in Miami, Florida. But the process tends to be very expensive and few companies do it. Reece did; positioning, “…science before sales!” as she puts it. The decision to validate her product not just once but several times, and by two seperate and impartial institutions before taking it to market, makes her something of a maverick in the vitamin industry. Moreover, from a broader perspective this tiny up-start of a company has single-handedly raised the bar for retail quality and credibility on the entire Vitamin C market which alone is -today - in excess of $900 Million per year.
“We understand the need for 3rd and 4th party assurance. I take our vitamin products myself, and I want to know that the vitamins I take are the very best or out-perform the rest.” Ms. Reece states candidly.

As their name Napa Nutritionals suggests, the family run company is located in the Napa Valley of California and is quickly gaining a loyal grass-roots following among people who appreciate their philosophy of ethics first.
“Local stores like CalMart in Calistoga and Transform FX in Concord are now selling our product,” says Reece smiling from ear to ear. Indeed, Reece’s list of health stores asking to carry her product appears to be growing steadily.

If you happen to be in the Napa area on November 18th you can meet Ms. Reece and ask her your questions in person. She will be representing Napa Nutritionals at CalMart in Calistoga from 10:00am and sharing samples of Fast C along with their newest product Garli-Eze.
