Orlando, FL (September 29, 2010) -- Scientific Food Solutions (SFS) Aqua-Lyte™ was selected one of four finalists in the 2010 InterBev Beverage Innovation Awards for Best New Beverage Ingredient. The awards, presented in Orlando, Florida on September 23, 2010, celebrate excellence and innovation in the beverage industry.

Patent-pending Aqua-Lyte is the first naturally electrolyte-fortified and pH balanced water without the calories, acids, sugar and other carbohydrates typically associated with sports beverages.  Aqua-Lyte effectively hydrates and replaces electrolytes lost during and after moderate to strenuous physical activity. It has zero calories and a superior taste profile, and is the first product in the category that will strongly appeal to women. In a recent U.S. clinical trial, Aqua-Lyte was the preferred choice for hydration and electrolyte replacement. It is available in three separate delivery systems: bulk concentrate for bottled water manufacturers, bulk concentrate for individual packaging as a supplement for bottled beverages, and a powdered form for use in stick packs as a supplement for bottled beverages.

The InterBev Beverage Innovation Awards program attracted over 100 entries in 12 categories. A panel of industry experts selected the finalists, and choose the winners.
